Lanca Damoyi, a Grade 5 learner at Ixopo Primary School, has been crowned second princess at the Little Miss South Africa 2026 National Finals.
Representing KwaZulu-Natal, Lanca received the title at the finals held at The Barnyard Theatre in Menlyn, Pretoria, this weekend. The competition is organised by Little Mister and Miss Africa – South Africa.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education hailed the achievement as an example of the excellence learners can attain when their talents are nurtured inside and outside the classroom.
“Her achievement is a testament to confidence, discipline and determination, inspiring learners across the province to pursue their dreams with excellence,” the department said in a statement.
“This achievement reflects the importance of nurturing learners’ talents beyond the classroom and highlights the role of schools in supporting holistic development. It also serves as an inspiration to other learners to pursue excellence in their chosen fields through dedication, discipline and perseverance,” it said.

The department also congratulated Lanca’s family, educators and the Ixopo Primary School community on the achievement, saying it was a proud moment for the school and the province.
